Suggested use
After opening, rinse thoroughly and soak in warm water for 15-30 minutes. Then simmer with meat for 40-60 minutes until fully cooked before consumption.

The Xianyitang 五指毛桃湯 (Wǔ Zhǐ Máo Táo Tāng) is a Cantonese herbal soup blend centred on ficus root (五指毛桃 / Ficus hirta), combined with soybeans (黃豆), sweet almonds (甜杏仁), red date (大棗), clerodendranthus leaf (龍脷葉) and a small amount of bitter almonds (苦杏仁). The ficus root gives the broth a distinctive mild, coconut-like fragrance characteristic of Guangdong-style soups. The soybeans and almonds add body to the broth.

Each pack is pre-portioned for convenience. Rinse the ingredients, add to a pot with your chosen meat and approximately 1.5 litres of cold water, bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer for 1–2 hours. Season lightly before serving. Serves 2–4.
