Goji berries — also known as wolfberries (Lycium barbarum) — 枸杞子 (Gou Qi Zi) — are one of the most familiar dried fruit ingredients in Chinese cooking. They have a mildly sweet, slightly tangy flavour and a distinctive bright red colour, making them a popular choice for soups, slow-cooked broths, congee, teas, sweet soups and a wide range of everyday Chinese recipes.
This Xianyitang pack contains 100% dried goji berries, produced under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Rinse gently before use. Add to soups and broths in the last 10–15 minutes of cooking to preserve colour and texture, brew as a simple tea with hot water, stir into congee or rice dishes, or use as a garnish for both savoury and sweet preparations.
Typical uses: Chinese soups and broths, tea infusions, congee and rice dishes, sweet soups and desserts, stir-fries and garnishes.
Goes well with: Red dates (大棗), dried longan (桂圓), codonopsis (黨參), astragalus (黃芪), chrysanthemum (菊花), pork ribs, chicken.
