Dried lily bulbs — 百合 (Bai He) — are thin, pale petals dried from the bulb of the lily plant, used in Chinese cooking for their delicate, mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour. They feature in a wide range of Chinese recipes: added to herbal soups and broths, stirred into congee, used in sweet soups (tong sui) and desserts, or brewed in hot water as a tea-style infusion.
This Xianyitang pack contains 100% dried lily bulbs, produced under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Rinse gently before use. Add to soups near the end of cooking to preserve texture, stir into congee during simmering, or steep in hot water as a tea-style infusion.
Typical uses: Chinese herbal soups and broths, sweet soups and desserts, congee, tea-style infusions and traditional pantry use.
Goes well with: Poria (茯苓), red dates (大棗), goji berry (枸杞子), sour jujube seed (酸棗仁), dried longan (桂圓), coix seeds (薏米), codonopsis (黨參), pork ribs and chicken.
