Cinnamon bark — 肉桂皮 (Ròu Guì Pí) — is dried cinnamon bark, one of the most widely used spices in Chinese cooking. It has a warm, sweet, aromatic flavour and a complex spicy fragrance, and is a core component of Chinese five-spice powder (五香粉). It is used across a wide range of Chinese recipes, from slow-braised red-cooked pork (紅燒肉) and master stock (鹵水 / 滷水) to Chinese-style soups and marinades.
This Xianyitang pack contains 100% dried cinnamon bark, produced under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Add the cinnamon strips to braised dishes, soups or master stock during cooking; remove before serving. Can also be ground or crumbled for use in spice blends.
Typical uses: Chinese braised and red-cooked meat dishes (紅燒肉), master stock (鹵水 / 滷水), five-spice blends, Chinese-style soups and broths, marinades and stews.
Goes well with: Star anise (八角), cloves (丁香), Sichuan pepper (花椒), fennel seeds (小茴香), tangerine peel (陳皮), soy sauce, rock sugar, pork belly, duck.
