Dried ficus root — 五指毛桃 (Wǔ Zhǐ Máo Táo), commonly known as five-fingered peach root — is a dried root ingredient well established in Cantonese soup cooking. It is prized for its distinctive mild, coconut-like aromatic fragrance, which gives soups and broths a subtle depth of flavour. Five-fingered peach root is one of the classic ingredients in Cantonese soups, pairing naturally with pork ribs, chicken and a range of other Chinese soup ingredients.
This Xianyitang pack contains 100% dried ficus root (five-fingered peach), produced under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Rinse thoroughly before use. Add to soups and broths at the start of cooking and simmer for 40–60 minutes with meat and other ingredients.
