Suggested use

The Xianyitang 雙杏椰梨湯 (Shuāng Xìng Yē Lí Tāng) — 'Double Almond, Sea Coconut and Pear Soup' — is a classic Cantonese herbal soup blend featuring dried pear (梨), sweet apricot kernel (甜杏仁), dried fig (無花果), polygonatum root (玉竹), sea coconut / palm fruit (海底椰), white fungus (銀耳) and a small amount of bitter apricot kernel (苦杏仁). The result is a naturally sweet, lightly floral broth, delicate in flavour and commonly made with pork ribs.
Produced under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly and soak in warm water for 15–30 minutes before use. Simmer with pork ribs or pork bones until fully cooked through, or prepare as a clear broth without meat. Allergen information: Contains almonds (tree nuts). Goes well with: Pork ribs, pork bones, lean pork, rock sugar (for a sweeter, meat-free version).
Each pack is pre-portioned for convenience. Rinse the ingredients, add to a pot with your chosen meat and approximately 1.5 litres of cold water, bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer for 1–2 hours. Season lightly before serving. Serves 2–4.
